About the Wallaby Walking Festival

In 2004 John Knox, our Chairman, suffered heart failure and after a new aortic valve and heart by-pass he recovered by walking in the countryside. This resulted in long distance walks in Scotland and Spain

In 2005 he decided to start a Walking Festival in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands and contacted a few walkers who were skilled in project development:

Our objective is to raise money for charities by walkiLudschurchng in the countryside

Presently our charities are: The North Staffordshire Hospital, Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust, NSPCC and the Douglas MacMillan Hospice

In the last 5 years we have raised £25,000 and hope to raise another £10,000 in 2011. Our confidence for this is based on our new film about our walks which will be extensively distributed. The film was sponsored by Jim Cullen of Endon
